Beer is our business
At The Beer Merchant we distribute, warehouse, merchandise and sell beers/ciders for microbrewers, craft breweries, macro brewers, importers, wineries, soda, juice and chilli sauce manufacturers, gin and rum distilleries and just about anyone that needs the walls and the wheels to get their product into customers hands, onto shelves or behind bars.
We also install, sanitise and maintain draught tap systems for office bars, pubs, restaurants, private homes, venues, functions and events.
Drink your favourite craft beer on tap at your braai, birthday or wedding.
We can supply this great range to local bottle stores, wine shops, independent liquor stores and retailer groups
or head offices.
Our team is efficient and reliable, covering the greater Cape Town and Winelands areas
as well as the Garden Route to Port Elizabeth and East London. Our deliveries are daily or weekly with storage and
long haul available too.

"What the hell is an ester doing in my beer?"
“Why does this beer taste so damn good with this cheese that smells like my shoes?”
“I told my mate how much I loved Belgian style brown ales and he just stared at me.”
"Craft beer gives me a headache and makes me feel bloated."
If these are questions you’ve ever had or would like answered and to sift through all the bullshit, get a group of friends, work colleagues, or come on your own and join others, at The Beer Merchant's College of Beer.
College of Beer is an introductory course to all things beer: styles, food pairings, breweries, learning how to taste, introductory beer knowledge and experimenting.
You don’t have to have any knowledge about beer, but we guarantee you will definitely leave with some.
You may also leave feeling quite merry.
Our minimum group size is eight people, and goes up to a maximum of 20
(we have done 80 people before, but let's not push it, we can also do smaller if its absolutely necessary).
The cost per person is R500 and includes 20 beers tasted and 5 snack pairings (regret, no credit cards).
The course can be tailor-made to suit a larger event or small group of friends at home.
Draught tap installations + rentals
We will come and look at your bar counters or the area you're wanting to pour from, measure up, take some pics, suggest what's best and plan accordingly with you.
Some venues may not be suitable, unfortunately. Trial portable units are available too. This is for a permanent install.
We will quote you for the installation of the system. Venues will first have to complete and be approved for a draught tap application, covering rate of sale and responsibilties for assets.
A deposit is required.
We arrive with equipment to install and set up. Space must be pre-cleared, kegs for pouring must be
pre-ordered and gas for dispensing must be on site. We do not core into stone or special wooden counters unless prior arrangement is made.
Get in touch with us about what you are needing, a single tap or a double tap portable tap system, eg, a keg of gin & tonic on tap with a keg of pilsner beer on tap and some bottled beers, plus wine, delivery and a beerman and some ice. We will then quote you accordingly. You accept or alter or reject the quote, make payment in full and we will then deliver and setup or you can collect and get pouring.
